Manchester HR Consultancy for Small Business Owners Celebrates 1 Year in Business

Equality Pays has marked one year in business helping small business owners in Manchester.

Based in Stockport Road, Levenshulme, Equality Pays, an HR consultancy firm, was founded last June 23, 2014 by its owner Michelle Gyimah.

Michelle is a small business HR specialist that has worked before with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), the equality and non-discrimination watchdog in UK. Prior to setting up Equality Pays, Michelle worked 8 years where she specialised in helping employers comprehend UK’s law on employment and discrimination. A holder of a Masters in Human Rights degree from The University of Manchester, Michelle has more than 10 years of experience on handling workplace equality issues.

As an HR consultancy firm, Equality Pays aims to assist small business owners understand the intricacies of UK’s employment law, with a special focus on family-friendly entitlements, including maternity, pregnancy, shared parental leave and flexible working.

With the time constraints faced by many business owners, the services offered by Equality Pays can be essential for small businesses in ensuring compliance with their obligations and avoiding costly legal issues.

In a press release posted on its site, Michelle spoke of the various challenges she encountered running her business. Michelle said: “I read so many books and articles on starting and running your own business, but nothing can really prepare you for the reality of it.”

Michelle, however, said that she was thankful for the opportunity of running a business like Equality Pays. She said:

“During my first year, I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of working with many businesses from different sectors across the UK including nanny agencies, soft play businesses, party entertainment businesses, care homes and accountancy firms.”
