EFD Launch Disability Recruitment Protocol

The Employers’ Forum on Disability (EFD) has designed a protocol which will require all recruitment agencies they advise to identify and remove the common barriers for disabled jobseekers. 20 leading employers have already signed up to the scheme, including Alexander Mann Solutions, Cisco, de Poel and Ernst & Young.

Developed in consultation with the recruitment industry and leading employers, the Recruitment Protocol has been developed to make it easier for employers to define, implement and share good practice.
Speaking about the protocol’s launch EFD’s CEO Susan Scott-Parker commented:
”We have found over the years, time and time again, that the recruitment agencies our members are using are failing to deliver suitable candidates for the right vacancies at the right time, while often placing themselves and their clients open to legal and reputational risk. So our members have decided to take very practical action, the Recruitment Protocol will require their recruitment agencies to demonstrate that they have the know-how and the will to remove the obstacles which prevent disabled people from competing equally.”
The Employers’ Forum on Disability is an employers' organisation focused on disability. With over 300 members, EFD advises organisations that employ around 20 per cent of the UK workforce since its establishment in 1991.
