Dear Sir/ Madam,
I completed my MBA in July 2018 and I would like to apply for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion roles. This is really exciting to me because I completed a one-year work placement as a Diversity consultant focusing on ‘Improving Diversity and Inclusion’ in my final project at a local non-profit organisation. I am a well-qualified applicant who would be an excellent choice for this position. I have a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion as I can use my knowledge and management experience to
create an inclusive workplace in any company.

At the moment I work for Aston-Mansfield, where I support colleagues and managers, by offering guidance on establishing E&D monitoring process, related legislation and best practices. I also set a plan including three stages toward creating a diversity action plan.

In my previous placement I was accountable for a change management project with the aim of improving volunteers’ diversity and inclusion and creating a diversity action plan. The research took a series of approaches including: reviewing the volunteers’ recruitment and monitoring process, identifying gaps in the processes, analysing the equality data, benchmarking against the local demographic data and identifying the underrepresented groups. The outcome of this analysis was a proposal of the diversity action plan with addressed objectives, strategies and actions to improve recruitment and monitoring system and increase visibility of volunteers from under-represented groups by exercising Positive Action.

My role also entailed monitoring and analysing activities across the project, identifying issues and solutions in addition to offering recommendations for improvement. I have gained extensive experience of successfully managing, monitoring, embedding and reporting on the performance of key workforce objectives in relation to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. I have learnt how to gain the support of the stakeholders to install an inclusive strategy in the organisation.

With regards to my background within the airline industry where I worked as a Sales Assistant in a commercial department and as a Manager of Crew Planners in an operational department, I gained invaluable experience in managing large scale projects and programmes. I also worked as an Data Analyst in Management Information System (MIS) department for five years. My role as an Analyst involved managing and analysing and reporting on raw data which was extracted and gathered from different departments.

I have a genuine interest in business and management issues with a specific interest in problem-solving and improving processes and policies in businesses. The experience I have gained so far has also equipped me with relevant skills such as creativity and innovation, problem- solving, strategic planning and analytical skills. I hope the combination of my MBA knowledge and management experience could add value to this role.
Enclosed is my CV offering a summary of my educational background and my work experiences. As you will see, I have few career gaps as a result of a caring responsibility of a family member. As my caring role is no longer require full commitment, I am now ready to resume and focus on my career.

I would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss my knowledge and experience and explore this job opportunity further. If I am successful for this role, please don’t hesitate to contact me on my mobile number or via email. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully
Forouzan Barband
