The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Equality and Diversity Advisor in the Corporate Equalities team.

The role will require you to deliver proactive, customer focussed and pragmatic advice to managers, employees and partners to meet service and legal requirements, whilst helping to drive the Council’s equality and diversity agenda forward to ensure equality and diversity is embedded in what we do.

Key Requirements

  • You should have experience of delivering equality and diversity advice and be able to work with colleagues at all levels, as well as use your own initiative and work independently.
  • You should have an understanding of equalities law and best practice in equalities, and the ability to apply this to design creative, pragmatic solutions.
  • Experience of working within a local government or public sector context is preferred but not essential.

Applications will be considered from candidates who do not meet the full criteria but have the potential and commitment to learn them quickly and a real passion for the principles of equality and diversity.
