Chief Executive Officer

RECRUITMENTiQ are working in partnership with a charity that is currently seeking a Chief Executive Officer.
Reporting To the Board of Trustees through the Chairman for the day to day running of the PDVC. The Chief Executive Officer is specifically responsible for the supervision of all staff and for giving help and guidance to all volunteers and anyone requesting assistance.
Monday to Thursday, 10.00am - 4.00pm, inclusive of 30 minutes for lunch. It may be necessary to vary the hours/time worked on occasions, to meet the changing conditions of the Centre but this will only happen following due consultation.
The successful candidate will undergo a six-month probationary period.
Notice will be three months by either employee or the employer.
We put volunteering at the heart of the community to reduce rural and social isolation for local people. Our overall aim is to place volunteering and wellbeing at the heart of the local community.
In practice, this means the activities we undertake to achieve our aim are wide-ranging and include:
Recruitment of volunteers and promotion of volunteering opportunities and supporting voluntary and community groups to recruit and manage volunteers.
Providing a Community Transport Service for residents unable to use public transport.
Supporting a Community Resource Centre providing a range of office services
Providing a lunch club and supporting other services for older people
Liaison with statutory and voluntary organisations to identify needs in the area and link them to existing resources.
The role is To organise and co-ordinate the development, implementation, and promotion of the Volunteer Centre (N.B. Abbreviated to PDVC in future). To actively support the board of trustees to establish and maintain a long-term strategic plan that will ensure a sustainable future for the PDVC. To provide a full range of administrative services and support and to work closely with the Board of Trustees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To organise and co-ordinate the development and implementation of the PDVC services, including: To ensure that the importance and value of volunteering is clearly communicated, both within and outside the Voluntary sector.
To ensure the successful development and growth of the PDVC
To ensure the efficient and effective management of the PDVC and all its staff and associated volunteers.
Promoting the PDVC - encouraging interest in and access to the Centre for prospective volunteers. To provide full support to the Board of Trustees in attending meetings as necessary, compiling schedules, reports and supporting papers, producing, and monitoring outcomes and ensuring that follow-up action is undertaken.
To work with the board of Trustees to ensure the long-term financial stability of the PDVC along with the adherence to all associated statutory reporting regulations.
To undertake project work and research on behalf of the Board of Trustees.
To attend meetings, during the day or evening, such as Trustee Board meetings, County, District and Town and other associated Council/Authority or similar meetings.
To ensure the maintenance of a database of all volunteers and their activities within the Centre, all Clients, and the provision of ad hoc reports/statistics as and when required.
To ensure confidentiality is always maintained with respect to volunteers and clients and that the requirements of the Data Security/Protection legislation is fully respected.
To undertake any other duties within the scope of the post as appropriate.
The Person:
An enthusiastic and experienced person, ideally from within the charity sector
An outgoing personality
Efficient time management and ability to prioritise will enable you to juggle multiple tasks whilst maintaining the highest standards of service.
Have their own transport.
Qualifications and Experience:
Good level of IT literacy
Customer service experience, ideally in the Volunteer sector
Applicants should have extensive managerial and administrative experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
