Role Purpose
  • The primary responsibility of this role is to drive and support global lines and managed regions to diversify HSBC\'s workforce and build a more inclusive culture. This role will also identify and manage strategically aligned D&I initiatives for the Group.

Key Accountabilities
  • Conducts annual D&I Health Checks with all global lines and managed regions and consolidates/acts on outputs
  • Proactively manages relationships with all global lines and managed regions to support achievement of aspirational diversity targets and the Group\'s broader D&I ambitions
  • Provides advisory and subject matter expertise to global lines and managed regions in the development and delivery of their D&I action plans, supported by regular D&I data reviews
  • Identifies opportunities and efficiencies for global and local D&I solutions
  • Undertakes activity to weave D&I principles across Group Learning, Talent and Recruitment processes and content, aligned to action plans
  • Leads some diversity strand-specific D&I projects
  • Support D&I awards submissions
  • Manages D&I specialist with oversight of D&I communications and events execution and ERG related activity

Management of Risk
  • Ensures compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards and policies.
  • Assists line manager on being responsive to regulators by addressing issues.
  • Promotes an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand and values.

Observation of Internal Controls
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards
  • Protects HSBC\'s internal and external reputation


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
  • D&I subject matter expertise required, with other Learning and instructional design, Talent and/or Resourcing experience desirable
  • Ability to lead and/or collaborate with cross-functional teams through influence vs direct reporting lines
  • Advanced project management skills, with a strong track record of translating business objectives and needs into efficient D&I solutions through appropriately setting objectives, targets, deadlines, cost management, quality and project management best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to a wide range of internal and external audiences, including executive level
  • Understanding of D&I data and HR systems
  • Self starter, resilient and tenacious with focus on execution and delivery
  • Connected to external D&I best practice and thought leadership, with ability to summarise complex information in an easy to understand way
  • Strong commercial acumen, with exposure to working in a financial services organisation desirable
  • Ability to thrive within a changing, complex, culturally rich and geographically dispered environment
