Regional Supplier Diversity Manager - UK & Europe

As part of the Procurement function, Global Supplier Diversity leads Barclays' efforts to leverage the firm's purchasing power to create the greatest favourable socio-economic impact within the markets we do business. In doing so, the GSD function leads the design and implementation of supplier diversity and inclusion strategies as well as serve as the global lead for supplier code of conduct. In the former, GSD engages small and medium-sized enterprises and businesses that are majority owned, controlled and operated by (generally) ethnic minorities, women, LGBT, veterans, service-disabled veterans and persons with disabilities. GSD leads on key programmes and strategic events designed to increase Barclays' expenditures with these businesses as part of its third-party spending. In the latter, GSD leads on the supplier code of conduct which ensures that those in our supply chain demonstrate responsible business practices including environmental, human rights, diversity and inclusion, social and product/service responsibility.

Your Role

The Regional Procurement Supplier Diversity Manager - UK & Europe will be responsible for developing and implementing the Global Supplier Diversity (GSD) Growth and Development Programme and lead the regional implementation of the global supplier diversity strategy and supplier code of conduct

• Growth & Development Programme - ownership of the global design, implementation and regional execution of the programme designed to increase spend with incumbent diverse suppliers and the programme designed to close the managerial, operational and financial gaps of incumbents and prospective diverse suppliers
• Market Access Programme - working with sourcing managers, execute demand mapping, diverse supplier scouting and prequalification processes for category-specific procurement opportunities
• Second Tier Programme - working with supplier relationship managers, engage prime suppliers in the Barclays Second Tier Consortium within assigned categories
• Supplier Code of Conduct - support execution of the supplier code of conduct during pre- and post-contractual execution for all in-region suppliers, including serving as subject-matter expert during supplier assurance process
• Lead scoring of supplier diversity and code of conduct responses to RFP ' s
• Lead in-market, or support out-of-market, Barclays Supplier Diversity Day and Second Tier Conferences
• Diverse supplier spend performance analysis & scorecarding
• Respond to client RFPs and external stakeholder surveys
• Serve as key point of contact with regional internal and external stakeholders groups, including participation in strategic events, representation on boards and committees with supplier diversity NGO's
• Management of the regional supplier diversity budget
• The role will have considerable responsibility and visibility across the UK & Europe, working with suppliers, procurement professionals, D&I, Employee Resource Groups, Group Citizenship, bankers and client RFP teams across all levels.
• The role requires public speaking, presentation development skills, evaluative judgement and analytical skills in addition to knowledge of laws, regulations and standards that guide the supplier diversity and code of conduct agenda.

Essential Skills
• Successful candidates must have knowledge and experience working with B2B entrepreneurs in a supplier diversity role as a core responsibility or have transferable skills from a procurement, consulting, finance, legal or other similar function or role
• Must demonstrate subject matter expertise in entrepreneurial development/supplier diversity and responsible procurement

Desirable Skills
• Must be comfortable challenging status quo, handling resistance and demonstrating passion for supplier diversity/responsible procurement
• The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership, project management and execution skills.
