Head of Diversity & Inclusion, EMEA
Description

As a senior member of the BNY Mellon Diversity & Inclusion function and member of the EMEA Operating Council, the EMEA Head of D&I reports to the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion.

The role\'s primary focus is as strategic D&I leader for the EMEA region, advising on and supporting strategy execution in the region and providing regional thought leadership, as well as regional insights and feedback on the global D&I strategy to the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion. The incumbent represents the EMEA Chairman and EMEA Executive Management to other senior officials, both within and outside the organization, and works with a broad base of stakeholders, including senior regional and global executives, HR professionals, regional works councils and employee forums, and E/BRG Executive Sponsors and regional chairs.

This position reports to the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion, with dotted line reporting to the EMEA HR Director.

Responsible for developing the region\'s diversity and inclusion strategy, localizing from the global diversity and inclusion strategy to ensure alignment.

• Develops the strategic roadmap to deploy and implement the regional diversity and inclusion strategy across all businesses and business support groups within the assigned region.

• Delivers and attests to the external financial services industry Senior Managers Regime (SMR) 18 and SMR 22 EMEA HR Director appropriate fitness and proper execution of the role, i.e., resolve or attest that there aren\'t any concerns or outstanding escalation issues in immediate area of control and responsibility, open issues are escalated in a timely manner and issues are appropriately brought to the SMF\'s attention. Ensure that M+I is delivered on a required basis, 90% of 1:1\'s are attended and 90% of HRLF or HRMF (as applicable to your membership) are attended.

• Establishes tactics for integrating diversity and inclusion initiatives into business strategies and client engagement initiatives, deepening senior business leader and manager engagement and supporting business-specific programs.

• Partners with the global team\'s metrics leader and Workforce Analytics group to assess/analyse diversity and inclusion metrics. Integrates analytical, evidence-based insights into stakeholder conversations and presentations to increase buy-in and drive desired actions.

• Develops appropriate tactical interventions, programs and solutions. Makes data-driven adjustments to interventions, programs and solutions to improve outcomes and drive success.

• Advances data transparency to improve understanding, engagement and accountability for diversity and inclusion goals and targets with Executive Committee and through management three levels below Executive Committee.

• Meets with regional chairperson and diversity committee, and participates in regional operating council, to deliver diversity and inclusion statistics and metrics and review the diversity and inclusion dashboard for the region.

• Collaborates, as needed, with Legal Department and across HR to ensure compliance with regional regulations and national/local regulatory laws, such as work councils. Provides stakeholders with regulatory and compliance guidance, as needed.

• Identifies and selectively pursues regional and national/local external awards, accolades and recognitions that demonstrate best-in-class achievement and may influence talent/client/investor consideration, e.g., diversity and inclusion leadership, best employer, best place to work, best practices company.

• Maintains a portfolio of relationships and alliances in local markets, and manages local partnerships and sponsorships to advance the company\'s diversity and inclusion goals and priorities, to share knowledge and best practices to accelerate diversity and inclusion progress in the financial services sector, and to enhance the company\'s diversity and inclusion leadership reputation and brand visibility.

• Reviews and approves potential third-party partners, as appropriate, to advance the company\'s diversity and inclusion agenda and effort. Recommends partners based on extensive experience and knowledge of the field.

• Represents the company at external diversity conferences and events, and serves as a public relations and media spokesperson for the company on topics related to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Oversees employee and business resource groups to ensure alignment to regional diversity and inclusion strategy and priorities. Advises and supports employee resource groups in their evolution into business resource groups.

• Creates and partners with employee and business resource groups to plan and deliver events that drive diversity and inclusion goals and priorities and provide an exceptional brand experience. Ensures diversity and inclusion events comply with regional and national/local regulations and laws.

• Manages the global HR and Diversity and Inclusion Awards program, including the company\'s Diversity and Inclusion Champions Awards.

• Supervises a small team, and supports and sponsors the team\'s professional development and career advancement.

• Attends mandatory HR Leadership Team meetings.

• Mentors high-performing, high-potential emerging talent.
