The Organisation Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children\'s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it\'s girls who are most affected. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We support children\'s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for - and respond to - crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries. The Opportunity The Gender, Inclusion & Diversity Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that gender equality is evident in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, staffing, policy development, equality of opportunity and ways of working. This is a global role, responsible for leading gender inclusion and diversity in the workplace across the organisation. You will ensure appropriate structures and actions are in place to raise awareness, capability and compliance in the areas of gender equality and inclusion in the workplace, identifying and driving through any required training, support, information sessions, liaison, guidance and reporting in order to achieve our goals. This role is also intended to strengthen PIan International\'s commitment to zero tolerance of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. The Individual An expert in gender equality and inclusion concepts you will have an in-depth understanding of how gender, age, and other socio-cultural factors intersect to effect access to rights, an understanding of the reasons why gender equality and inclusion are resisted and the models of behaviour change. With demonstrable knowledge of external and internal best practices in relation to gender equality and inclusion in all areas of work you will have experience of developing and designing gender equality and inclusion staff capability building programmes and training. A track record of developing human resources policies to reflect gender equality and inclusion and of engaging and influencing Senior Leaders and stakeholders on issues of gender equality and inclusion will be imperative. Experience using effective approaches to challenge and resolve cases of sexual harassment and other forms of gender based violence will be required.
