Salary: £30,487 per annum

Temporary Contract until 31 st March 2020 - 37 hours per week

Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a temporary Equality & Diversity Manager on behalf of our client a leading social housing provider based in Blackburn.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Equality & Diversity Manager to join the Group. The post holder will be based either from Blackburn (Lancashire) or Wakefield (Yorkshire). The role has been defined to ensure that the Group takes forward its commitment to equality and diversity, and to ensure it meets its requirements under the Equality Act 2010.

The successful applicant will:

  1. Ensure that the Group understands and responds to the diverse needs of tenants
  2. Be responsible for the creation and delivery of an annual action plan on equality and diversity issues in conjunction with the Equality & Diversity Steering Group
  3. Seek out best practice on policy and service delivery inside and outside of the sector and formulate appropriate policy responses to sector changes
  4. Provide regular reports provided on the delivery of the action plan to relevant bodies - Board, Operations Committee and Heads of Service.

In order to fulfil this role to its full capacity you will require the following skills, knowledge & experience:

  1. Experience of equality & diversity issues and how they relate to social housing residents
  2. Experience of ensuring compliance with equality & diversity legislation, regulatory standards and / or achieving accreditation
  3. Educated to a degree (or equivalent) level
  4. The ability to demonstrate continuous professional development

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use is required. Travel will be required throughout West Yorkshire & East Lancashire on a fairly regular basis.
