The role

Shoosmiths are looking for a Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Officer to join our award-winning team. We are looking for a dynamic individual to support us in delivering our diversity, inclusion and wellbeing strategy. Someone who is passionate about diversity and inclusion wants to make a real impact on how people feel at work.

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager and be instrumental in ensuring delivery of the Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Strategy.

Main responsibilities

  • Support the Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager in delivering the firm\'s diversity, inclusion and wellbeing strategy
  • Coordinate and promote diversity, inclusion and wellbeing events e.g. booking rooms, catering and equipment, marketing events internally and externally, maintaining delegate lists, communicating with participants, monitoring events to ensure maximum attendance.
  • Contribute to review of policies and procedures, conducting research where appropriate
  • Maintain and update relevant intranet pages, producing content and ensuring currency
  • Liaising with HR Operations to produce relevant statistics and reports
  • Contributing to surveys and benchmark reports
  • Providing administrative support to internal groups and networks
  • Participate in regional forums
  • Coordinate the network of mental health champions providing support and networking opportunities and organising training/briefing events
  • Maintain information on budget
  • Assist with key strategic HR projects

Skills and qualifications

Essential

  • Previous diversity and inclusion experience
  • Competent understanding of Equality Act
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of undertaking a wide range of administrative duties without direct supervision
  • Self-confident, calm and assertive
  • Customer focused with good written and verbal communication skills, when communicating with all categories of staff, exercising tact and discretion as necessary
  • Proactive and positive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent personal time management skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities
  • A flexible team worker
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to apply common sense and initiative
  • Competence in all Microsoft Office systems (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Good numeracy skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience in wellbeing role
  • Experience of professional services
