Diversity & Inclusion Manager
Description

Diversity & Inclusion Manager

£35,000 - £40,000 per annum

London

In 2016 a group of employees at Hachette UK, one of the UK\'s largest book publishers, got together and formed a diversity and inclusion group to address the lack of diversity in the business both in terms of employees and the books and authors we are publishing. Since then, the group has grown to 120 members, and numerous sub-groups have formed and set up some brilliant initiatives.

The Changing the Story programme has been so successful that we now need someone to join us to act as the focal point for all activities, initiatives and plans so that Hachette UK can make significant progress towards being the publisher and employer of choice for all people. We\'d love to hear from you if you have worked in the area of diversity and inclusion for some years previously, with a track record of building and maintaining wide networks of relationships and using them actively to inform and shape your thinking.

The role will report to our Changing the Story co-leaders, working closely with the HR team, the group CEO, and all those who take a leadership or co-ordinating role for Changing the Story initiatives. You will also take responsibility for co-ordinating the development of a new charity strategy.

This role presents an opportunity for an outstanding communicator with a passion for social change to have a real impact on Hachette UK\'s culture so that it becomes more inclusive and diverse in all respects including publishing content, author diversity, employment policies and practice and relations with the wider community. You\'ll be organised, commercially aware, and collaborative, and we can\'t wait to work with you.

In return we offer a salary of £35,000 to £40,000 depending on the level of experience you bring, excellent benefits, and the chance to work in our stunning riverfront offices by Blackfriars with a company full of people who are genuinely excited by their work, the books we publish, and the importance of Changing the Story. We aim to be the publisher and employer of choice for all people, regardless of their background.

Closing date: Friday 16 March 2018.
