Diversity and Inclusion Lead
Description

Ready to help shape a future culture?

London is one of the most diverse, innovative, and multi-cultural cities in the world and our vision at TfL is to be fully representative of this range of creativity and talent. That means we need to build an inclusive culture, with new strategies, policies and ways of working that will ensure opportunities here are open to everyone and that all our employees feel safe to be their authentic selves at work.

We have a huge impact on people’s lives every day, so also need to better understand the needs of the different customers that we serve: Londoners from all backgrounds. We have to get this right and deliver services that are accessible to all. We still have a long way to go. This pivotal role is critical to helping us on our journey.

You’ll help deliver some truly exciting initiatives.

It’s the perfect time to join us. Diversity and inclusion are key to the Mayor’s agenda and central to our Commissioner’s priorities. What’s more, our new Diversity Director is passionate about affecting real change. If you accept our challenge, you’ll be working closely with him to shape our strategic agenda and deliver a variety of exciting initiatives and projects that will improve the lives of both our customers - the people of London - and our employees.

Each day, we'll rely on you to provide advice, guidance and solutions on a range equality and inclusion issues. You’ll also be responsible for developing and leading the appropriate frameworks, practices and strategies that will successfully deliver TfL’s and the Mayor’s wider objectives. In short, you’ll be highly visible and hugely influential.

You’ll need a broad range of skills and expertise

Commercially minded and great at solving problems, you have proven experience of maintaining effective employee quality and inclusion in a large and complex organisation, both as a strategist and a practitioner, is key. We’ll also be looking for a track record of developing and implementing effective quality and inclusion policies and managing a range of key target groups focused on employee engagement, capability and behaviours.

A natural at analysing and interpreting data, you're also an influential and credible business partner who's respected for their consulting skills. What’s more, you have impressive knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and a firm grasp of best practice in equality and inclusion, not least in driving cultural change. And, if you’re familiar with the Mayor’s framework on the subject, even better.

The rewards are as impressive as your achievements

In return for your expertise, along with the knowledge that you’ll be playing a vital role, we can offer an excellent benefits package including final salary pension scheme and a generous holiday entitlement of 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. You can make significant savings on travel thanks to a free Oyster Card travel pass; 75% discount on national rail season ticket and interest free loan; and discounted travel on the Eurostar. You can also choose to take advantage of a discounted private healthcare scheme, tax-efficient childcare payments, and a host of retail, health, leisure and travel offers.
