Communications and CSR Intern Placement Year - Wimbledon. South West L

We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic Intern to join our vibrant Communications and CSR department based in our UK Head Office in Wimbledon, South London.

This role is an ideal opportunity for a confident, friendly and professional individual to work in a hands-on role, in a department that is responsible for developing and shaping Lidl\'s image.

The start date for the role will be 13.08.18 and interested candidates should be available to start with Lidl on this date.

What will you do?

  • Assisting in events coordination
  • Monitoring and collating daily press coverage in newspapers and magazines
  • Writing press releases
  • Responding to sample call-ins and picture requests
  • Supporting the Press Office on incoming enquiries
  • Supporting the Press Office on property and expansion announcements
  • Producing press coverage reports
  • Coordinating team meetings, circulating agenda and minutes
  • Responding to letters / emails from charities, schools and local organisations
  • Assisting in charity events and sponsorship
  • Providing support to CSR programmes and research

What will you need?

  • Currently studying a degree with the option of a work placement in the penultimate year
  • A confident communicator, able to converse with people of all levels
  • A bright spark, proactive with bags of energy as this is a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • A team player who is also capable of working independently, on their own initiative
  • The ability to be professional and discreet due to the sensitive nature of some of the topics dealt with in the Press Office
  • Highly organised and able to manage and prioritise workload
  • Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Used to working to schedules and deadlines
  • A full, clean UK driving license is essential
