Programme Manager, Diversity and Inclusion

London, United Kingdom, £ £ 34542.00-34542.00 Annual Annual, Permanent

Description:

We are looking for two exceptional Programme Managers to join our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team as we further grow our reach and impact.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone. Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our strategy.

You will join a team of dedicated diversity professionals who provide the Academy and the profession with leadership and insight on a wide range of areas including: organisational leadership, inclusive cultures, research, diverse networks and early careers. You will report to the Senior Manager for Diversity and Inclusion working with them on a portfolio of projects engaging engineering companies and engineers in industry to embed inclusive cultures. You are joining the team at an exciting time, with the opportunity to influence and shape new and evolving programmes. You will benefit from working in a supportive environment with a great team.

One Programme Manager will be responsible for expanding our work with engineering companies, particularly start-ups, scale-ups and other small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). You will manage a crucial new project, developing a D&I Toolkit for use by companies to embed inclusive practices. You will also lead on deepening our engagement on D&I with SMEs, through events, engagement in campaigns and other interactions.

The other Programme Manager will be responsible for programmes to support engineers in industry, to build their skills and understanding of D&I and thus contribute to embedding inclusive cultures in their organisations. As part of this work, you will develop and manage an exciting new Inclusive Leaders Fellowship, for mid and senior engineers, to include a programme of training, networking, mentoring and events. You will also engage with individuals in industry to support the growth of our Network of D&I Champions and ensure that the D&I experiences of individual engineers, are of central relevance to the development of our priorities.

Both roles will also support the D&I team more broadly, contributing to our pool of expertise, development of best practice and resources, so that the UK has a world-leading and truly inclusive engineering workforce.

You will be a creative and highly effective project manager with an instinctive and well-honed ability to communicate effectively with senior and other stakeholders in the delivery of complex programmes and activities. A believer in the need for systemic solutions to the inequality evident in society and engineering, you will be passionate about being part of the change.

If this sounds like you and you want to help us leverage the power of engineering to build a more equal society then we would love to hear from you.

We are small enough that you will be known, seen and understood, and big enough to offer great benefits which you would usually associate with much larger organisations. We offer an unrivalled package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and the possibility of flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development.

We have an inclusive and flexible approach to hybrid working based on trust and respecting individual difference, with a fantastic central London office near St James' Park when you need it. We encourage either full time or job share applicants as the post lends itself to job share. We support flexible working and would be happy to discuss working patterns with candidates.
