Inclusion and Diversity Programme Manager

£42,000 - 48,000 per annum (plus London weighting if applicable)

The Diversity and Inclusion Manager will support the Head of Inclusion & Diversity in ensuring that I&D is reflected in everything we do and stand for. This will include ensuring I&D is integrated into all policies and practices for our workforce; users of our services; partners and volunteers.

As a subject matter expert, you will be a champion for I&D internally and externally and support the cross organisational approach of being a 'centre of excellence,' providing advice and coordination to deliver I&D.

What you will be doing
The Diversity and Inclusion Manager is pivotal to realising our diversity ambitions by supporting the British Red Cross to transition to a 'why not?' rather than 'why should we?' approach to inclusion, equality and diversity.

Through delivering the diversity action plan and providing advice and support to internal stakeholders the post holder plays a key part in ensuring that the Red Cross complies with equalities legislation, actively promotes diversity and supports inclusion initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a number of programmes of work including the I&D Strategy, Well-being Strategy, Disability Action plan and the Culture Change programme.

You will also develop and promote the Inclusion Diversity Steering Group as a consultative forum and act on recommendations as they relate to the implementation of policy and good practice, as well as report on progress against local equality action plans / and the accountability framework.

What we are looking for:
With Programme/project management skills through either qualification or experience and a strong knowledge of best practice in relation to reaching, engaging and portraying those from diverse races and ethnicities, you should have:
* Proven success in working with cross-functional teams
* Experience in communicating / presenting accurate and compelling information
* Experience of working with a diverse range of people with confidence to challenge
* Proven success in strategy development, project planning and delivery
* The ability to advise on Equality Impact Assessments
* The ability to analyse information gathered through a variety of sources
* The ability to communicate with range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
* An understanding of the national and international climate relating to equality, Inclusion and diversity.
