Colas' HR team are based at our new head office in Birmingham and support the business nationwide with all HR administration, Learning and Development, HR Business Partnering and Recruitment. The successful HR and EDI Advisor will work as part of the HR team providing a responsive support to line management in the implementation of HR Policies and practices in support of business objectives.

About the Role

You'll work closely with the Social Value and BeFaIR teams to design and implement Corporate projects in support of EDI and Social Value objectives across the business. The main duties are:

* Be the first point of contact for all matters in relation to, employee relations, talent management, and performance management within areas of remit.

* Support and implement Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategies across the Business

* Take a lead on the planning and delivery of training with an EDI focus such as disability awareness and inclusive practice.

* Work with the Regional HR Manager to deliver against the EDI action plan for the business as well as proactively identifying key equality issues, which need to be addressed across all the protected characteristics.

* Work independently to provide written analysis and interpretation of data, identify trends and clearly communicate key messages.

* Provide advice and guidance on complex and sensitive equality questions to colleagues within Bidding and Procurement teams

* Support and implement Corporate Social Value objective plans across the business, including management of Corporate TOMS data gathering and reporting

* Support Corporate Business Units to deliver Social Value commitments, ensuring outputs are recorded

* Assist Managers to provide end-to-endresolution of employee relations issues such as conduct, capability and grievance, escalating as appropriate.

* Provision of advice and coaching on HR management issues, including terms and conditions, grievance, discipline, employment law, general statutory requirements such as Work Permits

* Keep abreast of all HR, EDI and employment legislation, communicate this information in a timely manner to all employees and business managers as appropriate

* Help review HR policies and processes, identifying any problems in area of responsibility and escalating recommendations for change to the relevant specialist/HR department.

About you

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a similar position with a strong consideration for delivering an efficient and professional service to our internal customers. You will also:

* Experience as an HR professional in a multi-site environment is preferred.

* Experience of, and interest in, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy implementation

* Able to develop positive & productive working relationships with colleagues and customers.

* Excellent attention to detail, organisation, time-management and communication skills

* Be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for attention to detail and organisation

* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite as well as use of various systems and databases

* Have excellent communication via phone and email with a helpful attitude and focus on delivering excellent customer service to our internal customers
