Our Public Sector client is looking to recruit an Equality Manager to join their busy Team on a initial 3 month contract on a remote home working basis.

Your main role will be to develop, implement and monitor the Equality and Inclusion policy and strategy towards the outcome of reducing inequality in the city and community. You will work with internal officers, members and other partners to ensure the inclusion of disadvantaged people and people on the basis of their legally protected characteristic(s) in commissioning processes and commissioned activity. You will also monitor and report on equalities progress and also ensure community cohesion. The role will also involve extensive work with the voluntary and community sector as well as external agencies and partners ensuring a raise in awareness.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

* Up to date knowledge of equalities and inclusion issues

* Community cohesion and inclusion

* Consultation skills

* Understanding of the issues faced by people linked to or arising from their legally protected characteristic(s)

* Knowledge of the local community and issues relating to inequality across a region / city

* Sound knowledge of legislation regarding equalities

* Promoting effective partnership working

* Working with communities, agencies and individuals on equalities, diversity and inclusion matters

* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

* Creative and strategic thinker

Pay Rate:
