Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion - South Yorkshire

This role is being recruited for in partnership with Ruth Hardy at Hays Human Resources on an exclusive and retained basis.

Your new company
This large region wide organisation with multiple sites in the region and over 18000 employees and over 20 million service users annually. The organisation is now looking to progress their strategy around \"people\", specifically Equality, Diversity & Inclusion through the recruitment of a Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. You will be part of the Leadership team spearheading this activity from both a strategic and implementation/practical perspective.

Your new role
This is a new and exciting role, working as part of the Organisational Development Team and wider Human Resources Directorate. You will be responsible for leading on the implementation of the organisation\'s EDI Strategic 3-year plan to promote, monitor and advise on equality, diversity and inclusion legal and mandatory requirements and best practice across the organisation (internal and external) As the senior expert for EDI matters across the organisation, you will support Senior Management Groups and Directorates to ensure EDI considerations underpin the delivery of the organisations wider People Strategy. Part of the role is ensuring that the EDI management and governance frameworks are fit for purpose and effectively support the organisation to meet its legal obligations and annual reporting requirements including, but not limited to, the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), Equality Delivery System (EDS2), Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and the Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES), as well as inform its EDI objectives. Also developing key alliances and positively engage with external agencies, communities and stakeholders to enhance the Trust\'s reputation, and ensure that local people are fully involved in helping improve services and with particular reference to addressing perceived health inequalities. Conceptualise, oversee and manage EDI initiatives and programmes ensuring ownership and \'buy-in\' at all levels of the organisation and that these are underpinned by a robust performance framework and metrics, in turn mainstreaming the EDI agenda across all business functions

What you\'ll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have experience at working at Senior Leadership Team level with significant presentation, leadership/management and knowledge of current Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) issues. Specialist EDI knowledge, practical application and experience in change management, modernisation, service redesign, facilitation and successful implementation of service improvements at a senior level. Ideally you will have a Post Graduate qualification (or working towards) in relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent gained through experience. This role will suit an individual with a real \"passion\" for EDI, be challenged by change and improvements to \"make a difference\".
