Description:

Working with a complex, diverse and large organisation to recruit a new role as Head of E,D&I. The role will provide strategic advice, develop and embed EDI strategy and co-ordinate all EDI initiatives across the protected characteristics and communities within the organisation to address issues of systematic discrimination within the structures. You will use matrix management to lead a large team of stakeholders, working closely with EDI steering group to deliver operational and strategic imperatives.

Accountabilities:

* Devise, implement and revise EDI strategy

* Work with EDI networks, communities and professionals

* Develop and maintain high level working relationship with senior leaders and colleagues

* Attend relevant boards, committees, working groups and meetings to represent interests of EDI

* Lead and participate in projects related to EDI, ensuring they deliver required objectives

* Oversee submission of applications for external recognition

* Manage change

* Lead and manage EDI team to maximise EDI contribution

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

* Specialist knowledge and in depth understanding of EDI issues in large organisations but also culturally across communities

* Demonstrable leadership experience in EDI development activity

* Current topical awareness and future horizon scanning for emerging research

* Demonstrable experience advising on EDI matters and significant contribution to EDI strategy

* Experience in matrix management

* Experienced people manager

This role is based in East Kent but with flexibility to work remotely. They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible and will look at Contractors as well as having a permanent opportunity.
