Head of Diversity and Inclusion

This is your opportunity to join our workforce senior leadership team as Head of Diversity and Inclusion responsible for leading the diversity and inclusion agenda for the whole of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

You will lead, develop and implement the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda for the Trust, strategically advising the Trust Board, ensuring that all aspects of our services including our workforce practices have a continued focus on equality, diversity and inclusion, with emphasis on ensuring our workforce reflects the communities and patients we serve. You will also provide a lead role in developing and leading the organisation\'s capacity to understand and meet the needs of its diverse communities and workforce. The successful post holder will also undertake develop and implement range of initiatives that foster staff attraction, retention and those that generate a culture of dignity and respect

Supported by a Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Diversity agenda within the Culture and Leadership elements in the Trust\'s People Strategy.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant management and equality, diversity and inclusion experience at a senior level, with practical application in change management and successful implementation
  • You will need to demonstrate your in-depth knowledge across the whole diversity and inclusion spectrum, rather than just specialism in one specific area
  • Proven track record of engagement and involvement, often with \'yet to reach\' communities and stakeholders
  • Ability to process summarise, interpret and communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious EDI information
  • High level of people management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver against challenging deadlines, coupled with sound credibility with senior leaders
  • Educated to a Masters level or have equivalent experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to live our values in addition to being able to lead, inspire and motivate their teams and managers to do their best for our staff and patients.
