Job Title: Graduate Recruitment Officer, Diversity & Inclusion (FTE permanent role)

Hours of work: 9.00am - 5.00pm, but with flexibility to meet the demands of the job including evening events and potential for UK-based travel dependant on COVID restrictions

Reports to: Graduate Recruitment Manager

Location: Anywhere in UK (UK-wide travel required post-Covid restrictions)

Main duties and responsibilities

Working with the Head of Early Talent, Graduate Recruitment (GR) Manager and wider Early Talent team to deliver a highly competitive and sophisticated graduate attraction and recruitment strategy and campaign. The primary focus of the role will be to achieve further diversification of the firm's early talent pipeline. For example, working with the Head of Early Talent and GR Manager to design and launch targeted events and work experience programmes to attract under-represented groups, facilitating bespoke coaching programmes for under-represented student groups and supporting the work we undertake to satisfy D&I focused pledges and commitments, including Rare's Race Fairness Commitment and the Social Mobility Foundation's Employer Index submission.

Within Early Talent, the Graduate Recruitment pillar of the team is comprised of the GR Manager (reporting to the Head of Early Talent), 3 x GR Officers (focusing on UK-wide attraction and recruitment), 1 x International Graduate Recruitment & Development Officer (focusing on locations outside of the UK, supported by 1x GR Assistant. The other pillars of the team are Graduate Development (focusing on on-boarding, induction, development, seat planning and qualification of Trainee Solicitors in the UK and Middle East) and Work Experience & Apprenticeships (focusing on school stage programmes and school leaver legal and Business Operations apprenticeship recruitment and development).

Specific responsibilities and duties include:

* with the assistance of the Graduate Recruitment Assistant, co-ordinating and acting as key firm brand ambassador and contact point for universities, candidates and other third parties, including D&I partners such as Aspiring Solicitors and Rare

* leading on delivery of virtual and on-campus events strategy and on the delivery of the firm's vacation placement and work experience programmes for under-represented groups

* lead on the delivery of the firms' Insight Programmes / Open Days for under-represented groups

* recruitment contact and liaison for law faculty contacts, career services and student societies in connection with firm events and programmes with a D&I focus

* screening and shortlisting of candidates for assessment centres for all programmes delivered by the wider Early Talent team including vacation placement, training contracts and work experience

* building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders of the business to enable and facilitate the Graduate Recruitment attraction and recruitment strategy

* involvement in the creation, development and delivery of graduate recruitment diversity and inclusion strategies and events

* building and maintaining relationships with a range of candidates across the recruitment process from application to offer and beyond

* providing verbal feedback to applicants for the various early talent programmes both successful and unsuccessful

* involved in the delivery of the annual assessment centres for all early talent opportunities

* working with the wider team and colleagues across business to provide new social media content and using social media in the attraction, recruitment and continued engagement of candidates

* managing candidates via application tracking system

Person Specification

Qualifications

* Educated to degree level standard and/or CIPD.

Relevant Experience

* Experience of working within the early talent market

* Experience of helping to design and implement diversity & inclusion strategy

* Experience of working in a professional services environment (desirable)
