An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic gender equality consultant to further their career with the team at Earth Active. We are a group of experienced international ESG consultants and managers working from our base in London.

You will work at a company that has a rich experience of lender-based client contracts that span many sectors and countries, meaning no two work days will ever be alike.

Due to expansion, we are adding to our frontline team to deliver on our contracts, creating a number of roles both contract and fulltime.

You will work together with our team comprising some of the best environmental and social consultants working internationally.

Earth Active is a new consultancy working in emerging economies from our base in London and with a growing reputation with investment firms and international lending institutions. To add to our experience and skill set we are looking for special and dynamic individuals with excellent communications skills to consult on gender equality and social inclusion.

Under the guidance of our CEO, Mark King, the work at Earth Active is extremely varied. From providing ESG training in investment firms and banks in the City of London, to on the ground interventions on major infrastructure projects in emerging economies. This role calls for a social development expert who has practical experience of assessing and managing social issues such as resettlement, inclusion/non-discrimination, gender, GBV, indigenous peoples and labour issues. The ability to build trust and relationships amongst different stakeholder groups is essential.

Essential Skills
  • Extensive experience of IFI requirements such as the IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles as well as current good International Practice in the assessment and management of social issues
  • 10 years + \'hands-on\' experience of international projects
  • An ability to address the concerns associated with marginalized and vulnerable individuals and groups; including children, youth and the elderly
  • The ability to act with a sense of proportionality and an appreciation of local contextual issues and challenges
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders (including governmental authorities and project proponents\' in a respectful and diplomatic manner
  • An understanding of the practical ways in which women and vulnerable groups can be mobilized during development so that the collateral benefits arising from projects can be maximized.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of working within fragile, vulnerable, conflict and post-conflict areas
  • Experience of working for, with or alongside NGOs, UN agencies and other donors in a developmental and aid-related context.
