Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

Salary: £36,492-£44,602
Job type: Full Time, Fixed term, 12 months
Hours: 35 per week
Location: South Manchester

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Organisational Development and Talent, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Specialist will work in conjunction with colleagues in the People and Culture Directorate to establish a strong sense of belonging and inclusion and lead the EDI strategy at Great Places following the integration of Equity Housing Group within the Great Places Group.

The post holder will review Great Places EDI Strategy to ensure this is fit for purpose to deliver on the ambitions of the new organisation and will work to embed this in every day work life and the delivery of services to customers.

About You:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:

- An understanding and awareness of EDI best practice and external trends.
- A passion for developing a culture of belonging and the ability to articulate this to all stakeholders.
- Experience of working with EDI data metrics and translating these into year on year trends/success measures.
- Experience of partnering with internal stakeholders such as HR/Comms/Legal/Commercial to successfully educate/embed EDI initiatives.
- An awareness and understanding of the barriers to attraction, retention and promotion.
- Ability to translate EDI strategy into innovative solutions and deliver successful outcomes at both an operational and strategic level.
- Previous experience of working with EDI external organisations/charities such as Stonewall/Inclusive Employers.
- Matrix management experience (preferably from within a social housing context).
- Proven relationship builder and influencer with stake holders.
- Proven leadership skills - both strategic and operational (across multi-disciplinary teams).
- The ability to motivate, inspire and engage a large and diverse workforce by example and persuasion.
- The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through interpersonal, written and oral skills.
- An ability to recognise, develop and effectively promote new opportunities for Great Places.
- Proven experience of writing and delivering strategies, policies and procedures.
- Experience of managing financial budgets.
