Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist (HR)

London, Greater London, United Kingdom, £38,440 - £52,000 , Contract

Posted: 1day ago

Description:

I am working with a Public Sector Organisation based in Westminster who are looking for an experienced Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist in their HR team.

The role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The role is to start ASAP and paying £38,440 - £52,000 per annum depending on experience.

We are really looking for individuals who have already worked in an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion specialist role previously. The role is looking at their internal and external practices, so there might be scope to work with their stakeholders to show best practice etc. so it's really important that you have prior knowledge of working in this field.

The role
Having recently reviewed our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, the organisation is now embarking on an ambitious strategy and action plan (which is currently in consultation with staff) that involves dedicated focus to our internal work in this area. We are ambitious in our plans to become an organisation which truly embraces difference, embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into our core values, policies and practices and the HR Officer (EDI) will support activity to really embed change across the organisation.

The work is broad and diverse and will see you working on multiple activities alongside the HR & OD Adviser as well as our HR and Payroll Manager, Head of Improvement and others in the team, to deliver the objectives of the organisation in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The requirements
You will have a strong understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, ideally gained from your previous work as part of a HR team. You will be experienced in co-ordinating and supporting multiple projects, analysing problems and developing solutions, all with an EDI focus.

As a small team, there is occasionally a need for team members to get involved in other activity that is not part of their main role. Therefore, some experience of supporting employee relations case work is also a requirement of this role.

Experience of Local Government is not essential, but it would be beneficial, and we are interested in hearing from people who have worked across a variety of sectors.

Although this role is full-time, we will consider applicants interested in working part-time/ flexible working, please reference this in your application.

Please only apply for this post if you have all the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out the role above.

As the role is to start ASAP please only apply if you are available on no more than 2 week's notice.
