Description

Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Equality and Diversity Manager for a requirement within a London University.

The client with whom we are working is looking for a candidate who will:

  • Oversee and manage ED&I activity across the university for all protected characteristics,
  • Manage and deliver the University\'s ED&I strategy, ensuring that it supports the wider People and University strategy
  • Researching, developing and delivering strategic EDI action plans, ensuring that the plans support the University\'s overall strategy, also to provide expert advice and guidance and act as a first point of contact for queries and information relating to ED&I
  • Provide and implement equality and diversity advice and guidance, with reference to relevant legislation and working collaboratively with all key stakeholders
  • To oversee the Athena SWAN, Race Equality Charter and other equality charter, e.g., Stonewall, Disability Confident, applications and implementation of action plans and to act as the first point of contact for queries and information relating to the Athena SWAN Charter
  • Coordinate, manage and report on progression of the institution\'s action plan as part of the Bronze Award submission and renewal application
  • Attend updating seminars/conferences and liaise with external bodies e.g. Advance HE, Equality & Human Rights Commission, UUK.

To be considered for the post of Equality and Diversity Manager you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and/or demonstrable experience in a comparable setting
  • Experience of managing and delivering equality, diversity and inclusion outcomes
  • Knowledge of possible approaches and techniques for delivering ED&I with a focus on recruitment, retention and progression
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting large and complex data sets for relevance and meaning and communicating findings through a range of mediums
  • Experience of similar charter application processes such as Investors in People (IIP) resulting in successful award
  • Proven project and people management skills, including line management and experience in HE or other large, complex organisation
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
