The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest community funder in the UK - we’re proud to award money raised by players of The National Lottery to communities across the UK. Last year alone we gave out over half a billion pounds (£508.5 million) of National Lottery funding to over 11,000 community projects across the UK, enabling even more people and communities to bring their ideas and ambitions to life. We support a wide range of health, educational, environmental, and charitable projects with grants ranging from as little as £500 to multi-million-pound programmes. 86% of our new grants were for less than £10k.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join us in a new role of Diversity Inclusion and Wellbeing Lead in our People Team. Applying your expertise and knowledge of best practice you will be responsible for leading the wellbeing, diversity & inclusion programmes for our people.   You will have a crucial role to play in developing diverse teams and creating a culture of wellbeing and belonging, attracting and retaining the best people and supporting colleagues to thrive, flourish and be themselves at work.

Key deliverables:

  • Lead on the development and implementation of projects and interventions which achieve positive impact across employee wellbeing and D&I

  • Contribute to the delivery of the Fund wide D&I Strategy and broader culture change, helping us to be an even greater place to work   

  • Lead and drive a shift to a more evidenced based approach, including using data to effectively drive and monitor performance of our wellbeing and D&I programme

About you

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Diversity Inclusion and Wellbeing at work and has a track record of delivering positive change.  You’ll need to demonstrate your experience and qualifications in these areas:


  • Relevant recent experience leading on diversity inclusion and wellbeing, with evidence of successful practical implementation of projects and interventions

  • Strong emotional intelligence and stakeholder engagement skills, able to communicate and influence at all levels

  • Extensive Knowledge of wellbeing and D&I best practice, including relevant employment legislation


  • Project/programme management experience

  • Experience of using data to drive results

  • Strong people management skills, leading and coaching others to succeed and setting clear expectations
