In conjunction with the wider team, the D&I Advisor is responsible for leading the development and delivery of an effective programme of work across the organisation on issues specific to LGBT and Social Mobility, linking key programmes to the organisation\'s strategy, business plan and diversity framework.

Client Details

Our client is a Membership Organisation based in London


  • Lead on elements of the D&I corporate programme and contribute specific input on the LGBT and Social Mobility elements. This includes gathering and analysing evidence from external sources, internal research, division committees and division members on issues impacting on equality and diversity within the organisation relating to LGBT and Social Mobility.
  • Lead specific projects such as Social Mobility Ambassadors and Diversity Access Scheme
  • Collaboratively develop and deliver key programmes within this area, making evidence-based proposals and developing activities including events, campaigns, publications and partnerships to deliver objectives.
  • Provide expert knowledge on this group to members of staff, including input to briefings, letter responses, media queries and equality impact assessments
  • Build external relationships to develop partnerships to achieve shared D&I objectives for the benefit of the organisation\'s employees & members.


The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Experience of developing and implementing strategies and action plans to achieve key objectives around LGBT and Social Mobility
  • Solid policy drafting skills and the ability to analyse, document and present persuasive papers and briefings
  • A strong knowledge of Equality and Diversity legislation and relevant codes of practice.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex and sensitive issues in a clear and persuasive style
  • Ability to build credible relationships with volunteers and council members
  • Proven experience of managing a programme of work, prioritising effort and addressing conflicting priorities
  • Experience of managing and reporting on budgets
  • Politically astute and able assess risks and anticipate difficulties and to make to make informed decisions and balanced judgements
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent

Job Offer

12 Month Contract

Job share opportunity for 2.5 days a week

Pro rata salary from £40,000-56,000 dependant on experience
