Diversity Engagement Officer

Not Specified, United Kingdom, £ £ 34747.20-34747.20 Annual Annual, Permanent

Description:

Based in our London office when restrictions lift with homeworking available (subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements) or solely homebased.

The CSP is the professional, educational and trade union body for the 60,000 Chartered Physiotherapists, support workers and students in the UK; and one of the largest representative bodies in healthcare. We are proud to have been awarded the 2021 Best Companies One to Watch accreditation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced campaigner and communicator to use their knowledge and experience to encourage CSP member engagement and activism based on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) themes, in workplaces and educational settings. You will also contribute to the recruitment of new members from diverse backgrounds.

You will support the CSP's BAME, LGBTQIA+ and Disability member networks and allies, engage with and deliver the CSP's equity, diversity and belonging strategy. You will grow and strengthen the impact of the CSP's diversity networks.

You will achieve this by engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders - including other trade unions/professional bodies, employers and policy-making bodies. You will also facilitate joint planning and activity with other CSP member networks, including those of our workplace reps, students, support workers, professional sectors, and of members in the English regions, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

You will already have good current knowledge of, and commitment to, EDI, and a proven track record in campaigning or communications around EDI or workplace issues.

You will also have excellent communication skills, with experience in effectively using print, digital and social media, and leading and presenting at online as well as 'in person' events and meetings.

You will be highly organised and be able to work collaboratively with staff and members across the organisation. Your creative flair and solutions-based approach will enable you to provide first-class, responsive support to members.

Our Values

At the CSP our goal is to create a culture which is characterised by innovation, respect, encouragement, passion and teamwork. We all strive for continuous improvement and to be the best at everything we do. We aspire to work in a way that embodies our values of learning, courage, inclusive and integrity. Our shared values are part of our organisational DNA and reflect the expectations we have of ourselves and others. They guide what we do and how we do it to have the greatest impact for our members.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Tom Gill on or email.

Closing date: 10am, 14 September 2021.

Interview dates: 30 September and 1 October 2021.

We offer an excellent benefits package, including 27 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, Christmas office closure between 25th December to 1st January and generous pension scheme.

The CSP is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

We would be happy to discuss with shortlisted candidates flexible working arrangements that suit the needs and preferences of candidates as well as the business needs of the organisation.

If you require any adjustments during the application stage, please email the HR team.
