Ofcom is the regulator for the communications services that we use and rely on each day.

We make sure people get the best from their broadband, home phone and mobile services, as well as keeping an eye on TV and radio.

We also oversee the universal postal service, look after the airwaves used by wireless devices, and also help to make sure people don't get scammed and are protected from bad practices.

We have recently taken on the regulation of video-sharing platforms, and we are preparing for a role in protecting people from online harms. Protecting consumers is at the heart of what we do.

The Purpose of the Role

Diversity, equality and inclusion is of fundamental importance to how Ofcom operates as an employer and as the UK's communications regulator. Diversity and inclusion across Ofcom mean that we can effectively represent and understand the needs and challenges of the people and communities that we serve. It also produces creativity, different ideas, perspectives and approaches to problems and work, which help us improve our ways of working and service. This creativity and innovation are key to succeeding in a digital age.

You will work with the Diversity and Inclusion Manager to progress the diversity and inclusion culture and talent ambitions of Ofcom. Working with colleagues and external partners, you'll support the implementation of some of the key projects and interventions that support our Diversity & Inclusion Strategy across Ofcom in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Diversity and Inclusion Manager in aspects of the D&I agenda including delivery of our Diversity and Inclusion Programmes of work.
Lead and co-ordinate action plans to address recommendations from external diversity benchmarking (such as the Social Mobility Index) and monitor progress.
Lead projects or interventions that drive implementation of our D&I Strategy and D&I more broadly (e.g., on race and ethnicity, religion, carers etc), engaging with colleagues and teams outside and across the People & Transformation team to ensure that D&I is integrated into our People solutions.
Be a point of contact for our internal diversity stakeholders ensuring a join up with the people and transformation strategy and workplan.
Support organisation-wide diversity initiatives, such as co-ordination of diversity celebration events as well as internal communications and engagement
Support the D&I Manager on other ad-hoc pieces as required and work collaboratively with the D&I Partner, seeking join-ups for effective working.Essential Skills and Experience

You'll have experience of driving and supporting D&I projects and initiatives.
Strong organisational and planning skills to meet deadlines and timescales and juggle multiple priorities.
Project management skills.
You'll have the ability to write and present information in a clear and logical format and to a range of audiences.
You'll have the ability to build collaborative relationships with others inside and outside own area.
You'll work pro actively, and independently, flagging opportunities and risks.
