Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Partner

Leeds, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, £ £ - Annual Annual, Permanent

Description:

Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Partner - 10-month FTC

London/Leeds - hybrid

At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field from data, technology, customer care and auto repair, to HR, finance, and procurement, we're a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. And we all work together to be brilliant for customers, every single day.

D&I and Talent are key priorities for DLG, and this role presents an exciting opportunity to work on and shape high-priority initiatives in a Group-wide context. The D&I and Talent Partner supports the Head of Talent in identifying, developing, and partnering with the business to implement initiatives focusing on DLG's D&I and Talent agendas, and creating an inclusive workplace. Accountable for design & deployment of the DLG Diversity & Inclusion strategy to drive stronger representation, improved inclusion and make the right impact in society, the D&I and Talent Partner works with the broader People Partnering & Organisational Effectiveness team and the wider HR function.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Drive action against our D&I strategy for DLG, monitoring current status and progress to date, external landscape and regulatory requirements.
  2. Consult with Business & HR leaders to achieve diversity representation goals and establish strategies to accelerate progress and build upon our inclusive culture.
  3. Maintain excellent understanding and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory D&I policy.
  4. Collaborate with Internal and External Communications to execute on our annual D&I communications plan - ensuring diversity strategy and interventions are well communicated.
  5. Own D&I external reporting and awards entries - writing government, regulatory and optional submissions (e.g. Charter commitments, external recognition opportunities).
  6. Own the relationship with our employee networks and support their effectiveness. Partner with our networks to evolve activities based on feedback and work with ExCo sponsor to run quarterly DNA Committee meetings.
  7. Support evolving leadership capability across the organisation to enable culture ambitions; and support the implementation of the Talent and Leadership strategies across the Group.
  8. Co-design and co-deploy progressive initiatives and programmes within Talent and D&I plans, directly and in partnership with wider HR teams to ensure D&I is embedded across all parts of the employee lifecycle (working with the Learning Experience, Performance, Recruitment, etc.) to foster an inclusive culture and ensure proper representation across the organisation.
  9. Understand the business and market needs, leveraging data and insights to translate them into executable and impactful D&I and Talent practices.

What you'll need:

  1. You will have experience in D&I together with a strong grasp on Culture and desirably Talent too.
  2. You will also need a hands-on approach, with the desire to get involved in design, delivery and evaluation.
  3. You'll be working with a variety of senior stakeholders, so your communication skills, confidence, and ability to influence are key, as well your ability to adapt as you work across different business areas.
