Community & Volunteer Engagement Lead

Description

The Hospice of St Francis is looking to recruit a Community & Volunteer Engagement Lead to meet the needs of our catchment of over 300,000 local people:

Fixed term one year contract: 22.5 hours per week (3 days)

Circa £18,000 (£30,000 FTE)

The Hospice of St Francis is committed to increasing the reach of its valuable care & making it accessible to all in its catchment who might benefit from its services. The Hospice delivers critical care at the end of life as well as rehabilitation to those living with a life limiting condition & support to their families, carers and friends.  

To help us deliver our strategy we are looking to recruit to a temporary post whilst our Head of Volunteers is on maternity leave. The project lead will:

  • Implement aspects of our Diversity Strategy by designing, rolling out and reviewing a programme of community engagement to improve our understanding of the needs of our community, promote awareness of services & provide feedback to enable us to adapt those services
  • Deliver key aspects of our blended workforce plan in our aim to recruit & retain a more diverse volunteer workforce with a wider range of lived experience relevant to our catchment

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in communities, networking to understand and overcome the impact of discrimination or equivalent barriers. Lived experience relevant to population served would also be beneficial. Applicants should have experience of working with volunteers and understanding of how to maximize their impact. Proven project management skills to deliver key targets & objectives is also required.
