Role: Business Advisor - Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

Salary: Up to £40,498 per annum

Location: Manchester City Centre / Across Greater Manchester

Contract type: Permanent

Are you an enthusiastic, hands-on, entrepreneurial Business Adviser with a specialisation in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion? The Business Advisor role will be integral in driving forward the agenda to enhance and integrate EDI across the Greater Manchester (GM) business community. Working with business owners and/or senior management, the role will be wide-ranging with an external advisory focus to embed inclusivity through knowledge sharing and best practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with private, public and third sector organisations to develop and evolve inclusive working practices and programmes
  • Working with the EDI Board and sub-Networks to evolve Growth Company's pledge for diversity and inclusion, based on a number of key themes: Age, LGBTQ+, Parents and Carers, Women, Race, Religion, Health, and wellbeing
  • Represent the Growth Company and engage with appropriate external stakeholder and relevant forums relating to the topic of EDI across GM
  • Create effective connections with our clients, partners, and the communities we work with to enhance diversity in their practices, widen accessibility and share learning and best practice
  • Engage with Local Authorities to understand place-based challenges and localised resource
  • Developing development programmes for businesses to enhance learning and understanding of diversity and inclusion issues
  • Examine client's business practices to identify opportunities to ensure diversity, equality and inclusion is a business priority
  • Developing development programmes for businesses to enhance learning and understanding of diversity and inclusion issues

About you

  • Be an exceptional relationship manager
  • Have a passion for people and a true belief in the value of diversity and inclusion for organisational and business success
  • An Influential and confident communicator able to present across a number of multi-channels including social media platforms and large audiences

Requirements

  • Significant experience and practice in EDI leadership, strategy development, formulation of policies and procedures, and execution to achieve business results
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship management capability with the ability to influence change with a range of senior stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Experience of taking an organisation through accreditations such as the Race at Work Charter
