BD Manager (Diversity Inclusion) - 18 Month FTC

A leading international legal practice with a truly global presence requires a Business Development Manager to create a strategic approach to the firm\'s engagement with clients on Diversity & Inclusion activities on an 18 month fixed term contract basis. The firm are happy to consider candidates who are keen to work flexibly or part-time. The role holder will initially focus on London, Asia and US markets from where greatest demand currently derives, with a view of implementing activities globally. You will be responsible for creating and delivering the BD engagement strategy based on the firm\'s D&I goals including raising awareness of the firm\'s strategy with partners and clients and driving programmes with which clients can engage. Working with CRM and business development teams to identify clients and relevant and possible engagement activities, the Business Development Manager will devise and execute plans for joint client activities that advance both the firm\'s and clients\' diversity agendas, including events, pro bono, conference speaking and awards programmes. The successful candidate will need to engage and enthuse the firm\'s people by collaborating with the internal communications team on relevant news stories; develop and maintain compelling client-facing materials for client teams to share externally; work with the media relations team to achieve coverage which builds the firm\'s reputation for D&I, develop thought leadership materials and topics that position the firm at the forefront of D&I issues within the legal industry; and assess and recommend sponsorship opportunities that would act as a platform for joint client activity and profile raising. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the impact of client-related D&I activities. Pre-requisites for the role of Business Development Manager include an outstanding academic record allied to proven significant previous experience of either a similar D&I role or business development preferably within a professional services organisation, where the individual will have frequently worked with Partners. Professional, proactive, creative and good-humoured, with an enthusiastic approach to all work and interactions, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned, experienced manager with a real enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of the opportunities arising from the D&I agenda.
